| | Tables and fields in Timberline can be referred to by more than one name. Timberline applications show tables and fields using their display names. Display names are customizable, and therefore solutions based on display names are prone to breaking.
Internal table and field names are cryptic but are also guaranteed to never change. Event 1 Software creates robust applications and therefore uses internal names in all Timberline-related products. Event 1 components automatically handle the translation of internal names to their customized display names wherever possible.
In order to guarantee that your Excel solutions won't break due to customizations of table and field names, internal names are used for workbook function parameters.
