Modifying Query Parameters

 Use the Parameters window to modify where a parameter gets its value from, and if the query should automatically refresh when the value in the cell changes.  Unfortunately Excel does not support renaming parameters.

To display the Parameters window, right-click inside the query range and pick Parameters from the popup menu.

Cell Reference

  1. Select the parameter name in the list on the left.
  2. Make sure that the Get the value from the following cell option is selected.
  3. Type a cell reference or click the button on the right and use the mouse to select the desired cell.

Automatic Refresh

  1. Select the parameter name in the list on the left.
  2. Make sure that the Get the value from the following cell option is selected; this functionality is not supported for the other options.
  3. Check or uncheck the box labeled Refresh automatically when cell value changes.
